WHAT IS IT?
A week-long sailing journey in the Greek islands. Each crew is made up of up to 7 participants plus a skipper and facilitator. We sail, clean beaches, snorkel, chat, cook, dance, and explore the intersections between ecology, justice and freedom.
WHEN & WHERE?
- Location: Ionian islands, Greece. MEETING POINT IN LEFKADA, you will receive more info before arrival.

- Dates: Weekly trips from early June until the end of August 2026, with possibility of running them also in September if we get another captain.

About the facilitator and captain
Irene is a former journalist and holds a Masters on Political Ecology, Environmental Justice & Degrowth with an emphasis on ecofeminism and communities. She participated in GEN International’s one year residential European Voluntary Service programme in Findhorn Ecovillage in 2020. Since 2023, she combines her facilitation and communication skills to serve different ecosocial projects in Europe and Latin America as living aboard and sailing the seas. She considers herself an everlasting student of conflict and communities with an edu-communications, feminist and process-oriented approach, as well as a pirate soul.
HOW TO JOIN?

- Wait for confirmation from the crew

- Once you are confirmed, get ready for the challenge. Can you fit a reusable water bottle, sun protection, swimwear, a sleeping bag or light sheet, eco-friendly soap and toothpaste, a small backpack, a journal, instruments or books to share, and plenty of openness, energy, and pirate spirit into one single bag?
We prioritise diversity and actively encourage participants from minority groups to join us.

Anyone aged 18+ who is:
- Passionate about the ocean, ecology and social justice
- Comfortable living in close quarters and sharing space
- Open to group living and collective dynamics
- No sailing experience required!
- Active and young at heart
It depends! We have different ways to make it work. Your contribution is what sustains the boat at the moment.
We’re not-for-profit, and although we depend on participants’ donations, we offer scholarships and work-exchange spots — especially for those who can join for two weeks or more or want to become part of the core team. We are also very open to organise crowdfunding campaigns and seek for external funding so that everybody can join.
